With Halloween quickly approaching, I thought I would share a spooky display idea utilizing an antique glass negative I unearthed at a local flea market. The negative is incredibly unusual and seems to depict a scene from a gothic play or horror story. To maximize its creepiness on the scariest night of the year, I placed the glass negative on an easel about 6" above a multi-wick candle, allowing the warm glow of the flame to backlight the suspenseful image.
Glass negatives are quite easy to find - many are available on ebay at reasonable prices ($5-$10) and back-lit with a candle even more simplistic images such as portraits exude a spooky vibe.
